Looks like steak dinners and cookouts were the way to go this Father’s Day as movie goers pretty much chose NOT to go to the movies this weekend. This week has been the lowest grossing box office of the summer with Men In Black International coming in at the No. 1 spot with just $28.5M on a $110M Budget.
Keep in mind this is the top movie of the weekend which combined, only grossed $128M domestically, which means that either the movies that are coming out are really that bad, or people are saving their money for what could be the second surge of the summer movie season, which sees Disney once again waiting to dominate the top spots with Lion King and the Sony collaboration; Spider-Man: Far From Home.
How do you feel about the mid season drought? is it that none of the movies interest you, or maybe you’re saving the money for the flicks you really WANT to see? Or are you influenced by the critics’ scores and reviews. Let us know in the comments what influences your movie going habits.
