Well it’s no secret nor a surprise that Spider-Man: Far From Home was going to open #1. However, the amount of money it made Opening on a Tuesday through the Fourth of July Holiday week is something we haven’t seen in a while. The one thing that FFH doesn’t suffer from is “Sequelitis” (When the sequel is noticeably worse than it’s predecessor. See: Iron Man 2) Delivering one of the MCU’s best storylines and great pallet cleanser to Endgame closing out Marvel’s Phase 3.

Outside of web-slinging superheroes, Disney Still Dominates the Top 10 With Toy Story 4, Aladdin, and Avengers: Endgame joining Spidey to take up 4 spots. Although Sony gets a piece of that pie a Spider-Man still belongs to Sony.
Smaller movies like Midsommar made a solid showing coming in at #5 earning $10.9M over it’s opening. Studios like A24 and Blumhouse have a reputation of “successful” movies by keeping their budget so low. With all the talk surrounding this film I wouldn’t be surprised if we see it creep up a few spots due to word of mouth.
